Three British men found guilty of conspiracy to blow up planes

A court in London has found three men guilty of conspiracy to murder thousands of people by mounting suicide attacks with liquid explosive bombs on at least seven trans-Atlantic airliners. The three had already pleaded guilty to conspiracy to cause an explosion. The jury failed to reach verdicts on four other defendants. An eighth man was found not guilty. The prosecutor told the court during the trial that the men planned to attack United Airlines, American Airlines and Air Canada flights at the height of the summer vacation season two years ago. The plot led to the introduction of restrictions on the amount of liquid passengers can carry in their hand luggage.
